Negative emotions REALLY like to wiggle their way into our minds when we first wake up. When we are still cozy and sleepy and a full day awaits us. This can make it super hard for many to start their day – who wants to start their day feeling like crap?
One simple tool that I find helps many people who I work with is simply keeping a note pad on their nightstand. Focus on one positive thought that can help spiral you up to a better feeling. Even if it is “its all going to be ok”. Write this thought down and read it, say it out loud to yourself and breath. Overtime you will have a notepad full of positive truths that you can go to when those negative feelings start creeping up.
